COTES Engineering professionals have performed an upgrade of the PAO Tyazhstankogidropress heat supplying 20 MW gas-fired boiler house in Novosibirsk. The project provides for the replacement of decommissioned water heating boilers with new ones (2 boilers by ENTROROS of 10 MW each) and for their fully automated operation. COTES Engineering completed the whole set of works including: design, installation, supply, programming, commissioning and the implementation of the distributed control system. The project has been implemented through the use of a lease financing mechanism.
In June 2017, the company’s professionals started development for the project and, in December, the new boiler house was already put into operation. At the first stage, one 10 MW boiler and the first-stage’s common boiler equipment were installed. Especially for this boiler house, COTES Engineering professionals developed a modern universal software and hardware complex on the basis of Siemens’ (Simatic S7 series PLC) and MasterSCADA’s software and hardware. Since December, the boiler house has been operating automatically, without any service personnel. Depending on the outdoor weather conditions, the coolant temperature is altered automatically by the optimal boiler circuits’ control system, thus providing significant fuel economy and a balanced supply of heat to the plant.
Refurbishment of the boiler house, through the use of new equipment and the implementation of a distributed process control system, allowed for the provision of a totally safe and cost-efficient heat supply to the plant. For the next stage, the installation of a second water heating gas-fired boiler is planned and the final set of common boiler equipment is to be put into operation. The implemented software and hardware complex enables the keeping of performance records and the display of graphs for all boiler house parameters retrospectively.
