COTES Engineering continues working actively on the sites of OAO Ilim Group of Companies: we participate in retrofitting the non-condensable gases combustion system of RB-14 and designing DNCG disposal system of RB-11 in Bratsk forest complex. Also COTES’ professionals perform re-equipment of RB-15 soda recovery boiler in Koryazhma, and re-equipment of bark boilers Nos. 4 and 5, with turning the bark and wood wastes to the fluidized-bed combustion technology with a new dust removal system under the “Construction of pulp and cardboard mill in Ust-Ilimsk” project.
In the end of December and in January COTES was recognized as a winner of two more tenders: “Design of RB-4 construction” and “Development of the inter-shop communications construction design under Construction of pulp and cardboard mill in Ust-Ilimsk” project”.
In 2018, Ilim Group has started implementation of “Greater Ust-Ilimsk” investment project providing for establishment of a new cardboard mill and other packaging materials manufacture with the yield of 600 thousand tons per year in Ust-Ilimsk. According to the website of AO Ilim Group, a contract has already been signed with Voith concern (Germany) for supply of a tailor-made cardboard machine (CBM). After the launch in 2021 it will become the kraftliner (wood-free cardboard) machine with the highest output in the world, namely 600 thousand tons per year. Whereas, the maximum production output of the machine is 2,150 tons of cardboard per year. The CBM manufacturer will fit the machine with state-of-the-art systems of automation and control, that allow online monitoring and recording the web break and other process events. The equipment will be delivered to Ust-Ilimsk as separate elements to be assembled and installed further on-site. The heaviest part of CBM will weigh 79 tons (Nipco-P center rider roll).
