COTES Engineering has completed the first stage of development of the refurbishment project for the CHPP of the affiliate branch of AO “RUSATOM Infrastructural Solutions” (AO “RIR”) in Seversk using a new digital information modelling technology (also known as BIM).
Basic design for the refurbishment of 10 boiler units of the second stage of the station has successfully passed the expert review of Rosatom and the industrial safety expert review. A digital information model of the facility (DIM) has been developed. During the project, modern green solutions have been implemented that allow not only upgrading the station but also improving energy safety, reliability, and stability of operation, and mitigating the negative environmental impact. For example, installation of compact automated bag filters will allow providing a ten-fold emission reduction (residual dusting will be only 20 mg/nm3, with 99.9% ash collection). The use of modern gas-tight boiler units with a new design will allow to significantly improve the boiler efficiency and thus reduce the consumption and volume of the burnt fuel.
In 2021, COTES is going to perform a serious work for implementing the project for compactization of the station and transfer of the first stage to the second one as well as the development of detailed design that is already ongoing.
The entire work on the Seversk CHPP refurbishment project development will be completed by the end of 2021.
