COTES Engineering has equipped 6 units of the Novosibirskaya CHPP-5 with the heating surface cleaning system in several steps. Installation of steam and water soot blowers Clyde Bergemann providing furnace cleaning, as well as screen and convective superheater began in 2018 and was completed in the end of 2021.
Even in 2018, after the first implementation step, the CHPP-5 specialists gave a positive feedback on new equipment. According to the estimates, the annual economic effect of soot blowers implementation has reached 230 million RUB.
The cost savings were achieved due to the decrease in the stack gases temperature by 15 degrees, the reduction in the cleaning cost and due to the additional effect at the power and energy market related to the reduction in the energy limits for the unit.
Earlier, before the CHPP-5 transition to lignite coals, we had to regularly stop boiler units for cleaning. After the 2018-2019 heating season, the management of the Novosibirskaya CHPP-5 made a decision to equip all station boilers with soot blowers. As a result of this, the station could entirely eliminate the need to shut down the equipment for cleaning since the devices can provide an efficient cleaning and control deposit growth irrespective of the equipment operating mode or fuel type.
