Denis Sinelnikov, the Head of Integrated Projects at COTES Engineering, has made a report in the 36th Siberian Thermophysical Seminar dedicated to the 70th anniversary of S.V. Alekseenko, the Academician of the RAS. The seminar was held in Novosibirsk on October 5-7 under the leadership of Dmitry Markovich, the Academician of the RAS.
It was arranged by the S.S. Kutateladze Institute of Thermal Physics of the SB RAS, Novosibirsk National Research State University, Siberian branch of the RAS, Department for Power Engineering, Machine Building, Mechanics and Control Processes, Russian National Committee on Heat and Mass Transfer, Novosibirsk State Technical University, and OOO “ZiO-COTES”.
During the seminar, the reports in various areas have been provided: heat transfer intensification, hydrodynamics, thermal physics of micro- and nanosystems, processes in rarefied gases and plasma, thermophysical properties of substances and radiation heat transfer, and other processes.
The report of COTES Engineering titled “Burning Device with the Black Oil-Free Burning System for Coal-Dust Boiler Units” was provided in section 5 “Thermophysical Problems of Power Engineering, Energy Efficiency and Power Saving” moderated by Alexey Tsepenok, the Director of OOO “ZiO-COTES”. The report’s authors are: D.O. Kochergin, D.S. Sinelnikov, S.N. Kuchanov. Denis Sinelnikov acted on behalf of COTES and told about the development of the black oil-free burning technology that allows solving one of the critical issues at today’s CHPPs.
Currently, specialists from all over the world are looking for the ways to stop using black oil as a start-up fuel. The black oil handling equipment in the CHPP has several economic, process, environmental, and operational drawbacks, from its cost to low quality of black oil due to more efficient oil processing. COTES Engineering has developed an innovative electroionization technology for black oil free burning of coal-dust boilers, which allows starting the coal-dust boiler burning by using less energy for this. The increased service life of an electrode system allows avoiding additional cost for the replacement of electrode units in the inter-repair boiler interval.
Denis Sinelnikov told that, in addition to the black oil-free igniter, the COTES engineers are developing the burner device design that allows reducing the mechanical loss of non-ignited dust during boiler burning from cold position and increase the thermal power of a burner to burn high-power boilers. During this, the process automation in the burning mode will be provided.
In April 2020, the COTES Engineering technology has been successfully tested with many lignite and hard coals in Russia in the laboratory bench of the Institute of Thermophysics of the Siberian branch of the RAS. The work is actively performed with new options of the burner device design. The technology has extended beyond the experimental bench and is going through the experimental industrial operation step in the Russian and Serbian burner units. Several generating companies have expressed their interest in the technology implementation. Several thermal stations plan to introduce the black oil-free technology in the nearest years.
