For more than a month from now, COTES has been broadcasting every Thursday with interesting and relevant topics in the energy sector. The report of the Heat Power Engineer, Polina Belyavskaya, was the last speech in April. The speaker talked about modern and promising methods for reducing emissions of sulfur oxides (dry, semi-dry and wet technology) and nitrogen oxides (selective noncatalytic reduction, selective catalytic reagent technology, world’s best practices), and dust trapping methods. Additionally, Polina described the advantages and limitations of these methods, and technology adaptation experience at Russian and foreign thermal power plants.
